EGOISTIC
There seems to be this monster
All locked inside of me
Where I to free it for a moment
It would virtually strangle me
It’s gentle when I feed it
It dwells on thoughts & words
It has not limitations
A vision beyond my words
Struggling to keep it in bondage
At times it runs scot free
It kindles up a fire
That’s just not meant to be
It portrays me in its image
One I can’t detest
It can hurt a lot of people
Were it not locked deep inside
A few call it my ego
The largest they have seen
In all my reasonable humbleness
It seems so dear to me
Were I to ever silence it
And let the people speak
I doubt in all my wisdom
There a monster would not be
Bows
There seems to be this monster
All locked inside of me
Where I to free it for a moment
It would virtually strangle me
It’s gentle when I feed it
It dwells on thoughts & words
